Everything You Need To Know About The New Fiery Line At Carl's Jr.
It's the middle of winter, and for many of us, the weather is cold, cold, cold, with no end in sight for the next 100 years. Well, two to three months, but it sure seems like an eternity in a Siberian gulag. Well, you know what could really heat things up? Yes, habanero sauce! Carl's Jr. knows, and that's why they — along with their brother-from-another-mother Hardee's — are releasing some "fiery" new habanero-spiced foods.
What's on the menu is the Fiery Famous Star, a beef burger topped with "Fiery Sauce," which, according to a statement sent to Mashed, is a habanero ranch dressing. (Yes, just like the one McDonald's once offered.) The burger carries out the "en fuego" theme with pepper jack cheese and jalapenos as well as the more typical burger toppings of onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. It should run you about $4.39 (plus, of course, the inevitable tax), while you can get a double version for $6.39. Carl's Jr. even has vegetarians covered with a Beyond Fiery Famous Star, which isn't exactly "beyond fiery," but is made with a plant-based burger in addition to the above-named accouterments. This burger will set you back $6.99, though prices may vary from location to location, and this specific item isn't available at Hardee's. Oh, and if you're more of a chicken fan, good news for you, too — the Fiery Sauce will also be available as a dipping sauce for Carl's Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders.
Carl's new sauce already has its fans
Since Fiery Sauce is ranch dressing-based, how better to promote it than with a ranch? Okay, so the Habanero Ranch, as far as we can tell, doesn't seem to have a physical location, but it will nonetheless have a digital listing on real estate website RelaHQ. Carl's Jr. (and Hardee's) should be supplying all the details as to how to access the listing on their Instagram page(s) soon, but their statement spoke of "hidden gems" that, should you discover them, will lead you to "fun Fiery Sauce-related content."
If Carl's needs any virtual ranch hands for their online ranch, it seems as if they'll have no shortage of volunteers. An earlier Instagram post introduced the Fiery Famous Star by asking the rhetorical (and also silly) question, "A little bit of spice never hurt anyone did it?" and it drew some pretty enthusiastic responses. One commenter proclaimed, "The FIERY Sauce is the truth!" (to which Carl's replied "no lies detected"). Another provided a capsule review: "Had it for lunch and it was delicious." Still another Instagram user had a request for Carl's: "It's really tasty, wish you guys would put the sauce on other burgers too." Sounds like it's pretty "hot stuff," all right! No word on whether it will only be available for the dreaded "limited time only," but if the response is this positive, maybe this sauce will stick around for a while.
