Mikala is a music & mindfulness journalist and advocator. As a freelance writer for over seven years, she has published hundreds of articles and features relating to everything music, travel, wellness, and food. While being a writer for Mashed, she also writes weekly for EDM.com, covering some of the best electronic shows and festivals around the country. She also represents a variety of music and holistic health clients under her own LLC, M&M Entertainment, including ECOSYS, Elevation Music Festival, Melvin Seals & JGB, and more. You can find her dancing to live music across the country, hiking with her dog Jameson, rock climbing, and eating tasty, chocolatey treats any time of the day.

Education

Mikala has a bachelor's degree in public relations from Kent State University. There, she studied journalism, promotional campaigning and messaging, as well as creative marketing which gives her a wide lens on writing for a variety of publications and clients.
