What Happened To BottleKeeper After Shark Tank?
As a show, "Shark Tank" has become incredibly popular and somewhat of a household name (per Inc.). These days, any good idea is almost immediately followed by the thought of presenting it to the sharks, securing a deal, and making millions. In fact, we've seen some of the best foods come out of "Shark Tank" episodes.
Adam Callinan and Matt Campbell took the beverage route. The two appeared on "Shark Tank" in 2018 to share their idea for BottleKeeper, an insulated device that could keep any bottled beverage nice and cold on a hot day. The cousins presented to the sharks, and perhaps their biggest feat was that in the 10 days leading up to their TV appearance, they had done $1 million in sales and had a total of $20 million over three years (per Shark Tank Recap). This was enough to pique the interest of Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, who partnered to invest a combined $1 million into the company, with two stipulations: They receive a 5% stake in the brand, plus $1.50 per sale until they were paid back $2 million. Now, four years later, where does BottleKeeper stand?
BottleKeeper has continued to find success post-Shark Tank
After making the initial deal with Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, BottleKeeper only continued to thrive. People love taking that first sip of beer, and BottleKeeper manages to keep the beverage cold. However, it apparently wasn't with the help of Cuban and Greiner. According to Shark Tank Blog and Shark Tank Recap, the deal between the two sharks and the entrepreneurs never actually closed. The blog reports that the brand's sales still spiked a whopping 300% after appearing on the show, and they did another $1 million in sales in just a few days.
Bottlekeeper has since been picked up by different media outlets for coverage. Business Insider featured the product in its reviews section in 2018, where it said the brand was selling 2.5 units every minute through its online sales system and was expected to make a staggering $15 million in revenue that year. Plus, in 2021, "Good Morning America" featured the product in its "Deals & Steals" section and offered its audience a deal on the product.
BottleKeeper has released new lines of its products
Though the bottle shape is what made the brand famous, BottleKeeper has since expanded to create other kinds of beverage coolers. According to BottleKeeper's website, they now sell the CanKeeper, PintKeeper, and ChillKeeper. The CanKeeper comes in either a standard 12-ounce can option or as a three-in-one product for different-sized cans, such as 16-ounce beers or slim cans of spiked seltzer. The PintKeeper holds 20 ounces, while the Chillkeeper is a cooler that can hold either 16 or 32 12-ounce cans. It even features antimicrobial material to help prevent bacteria growth — though one will run you at least $200.
BottleKeeper appeared on "Shark Tank" with a five-person team, and per the company's website, it's still run by five people. Founders Callinan and Campbell hold the same roles they did four years ago, and in addition to Business Insider and "Good Morning America," they've been featured in Forbes and CNBC.
