The Customer Mistake Chick-Fil-A Employees Say Is Too Common
Mistakes are common in fast food. It may be a worker accidentally gives you Pepsi when you asked for Coca-Cola, or it may be you asking for an item they no longer offer. These social blunders may be embarrassing, sure, but at the end of the day, they're quickly forgotten. But sometimes, you may make a mistake that is all too common with the employees, including ones that seem for too absurd to happen often. At Chick-fil-A, one mistake people make is one you probably didn't expect them to make at all.
According to the subreddit r/ChickFilAWorkers, a thread appeared bearing the bizarre title "McZaxfila." This isn't a new Chick-fil-A item, but instead a portmanteau of McDonalds, the chicken restaurant Zaxby's, and Chick-fil-A. What do these three places have in common? Well, to some customers of Chick-fil-A, they all seem to share the same menu items. The most common mistake at Chick-fil-A, it would seem, is customers coming in and ordering food from other fast food restaurants. Commenters shared stories of being asked for Arby's sauces, McDonald's McNuggets and Happy Meals, and even menu items from Chipotle.
While customers ordering McNuggets at Chick-fil-A may be common and maybe even somewhat comical, it's not the only types of slip-ups that Chick-fil-A employees deal with a bit too often in their lives.
Don't order a large shake at Chick-fil-A
You're in the mood to grab some nuggets and a milkshake from your local Chick-fil-A. You pull up to the drive-thru, order a 30-count nugget meal, some waffle fries, and a large vanilla shake. There's a moment of silence before the employee on the other side of the speaker gently reminds you that they only have one size of milkshake. Don't get too embarrassed — it's a fairly common mistake (via Reddit) — but don't get mad with the cashier for telling you that.
"It's all fun and games until they come to the window and get p***** at that person [and ask], 'THIS IS A LARGE??,' and then I have to say, 'No ma'am we only have one size,'"one employee, who had to serve a shake to a confused and irate customer, shared.
But before you worry that you seem like the worst customer in the world, just remember that Chick-fil-A employees make mistakes, too. For example, you know their sweet tea you could buy in gallons? It's not too rare to accidentally spill the bucket of sweet tea when loading up the dispenser, according to some employees. It's an unfortunate waste of tea, but in the end, it's nothing they haven't seen before.
Even if you do make tiny mistakes here and there as we all do, it's important to remember that the employees are people too, so treat them with the same respect they would you.
