Valentine's Day Brownies Recipe
There's no sweeter way to tell someone you love them than with a fresh batch of brownies. These Valentine's Day brownies are perfect for the ones you love the most, and they're sure to fill everyone's hearts with joy. What's better than a brownie drizzled with white chocolate and sprinkles? Nothing, of course! The great part about this recipe is that you can simply use your go-to brownie mix to make these sweet treats. If you'd like, you can also use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make them even more festive.
Recipe developer Catherine Brookes is one of the best when it comes to making decadent desserts, and this one is no exception. "These brownies are so quick to make and fun to decorate, too. Using box mix makes them easy to customize if you wanted to add chocolate chips or chopped nuts," Brookes shares. So, if you need something to make for your honey or kiddos on February 14, then this is your ticket.
Gather the ingredients for your Valentine's Day brownies
Ready to get this recipe started? You'll need to make a list of ingredients to throw these tasty brownies together. The great part about this recipe is that it requires just a few items, making it easy and affordable.
For starters, get a box of brownie mix. You can choose any type you wish, but be sure to check the back of the box to see which other ingredients you'll need. Most likely, you'll need a few eggs. Then, pick up some butter and white chocolate chips. The recipe also calls for a few drops of pink food coloring and some heart-shaped or Valentine's-themed sprinkles.
Prep the oven and mix your brownies
Now that you've gathered all of your ingredients, it's time to get baking. The first thing you'll need to do is preheat the oven to 350 F, or the specific temperature called for on the back of the brownie box. All brands vary, so it's good to double-check!
Then, take out a 7x7-inch brownie pan and grease it. Line the brownie sheet with parchment paper as well. This will prevent the brownies from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Add the brownie mix and the eggs to a large bowl and beat them together to combine. Next, add the melted butter and fold through until it's well-combined. This won't take more than a few moments to do. And Brookes assures us that you can use a stand-mixer or simply mix the brownies by hand.
Bake the cookies and melt the chocolate
Now, the brownie batter should be good to go. Transfer the contents into the lined pan and bake for 25 minutes. Once your timer goes off, take the brownies out of the oven and leave them in the pan for about 10 minutes to cool. Then, transfer them to a wire rack.
Next, take the white chocolate chips and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in 30-second increments, stirring in-between, until the chocolate has melted. Add a few drops of the pink food coloring to the chocolate and mix through.
Add the chocolate and sprinkles and enjoy
Drizzle the chocolate over your brownies, then add the sprinkles on top so they stick to the chocolate. Let the brownies cool completely and wait for the chocolate to harden before serving. Then, slice the brownies into 12 bars. We think it would be fun to cut these out in heart shapes.
As for serving suggestions? "With ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries," Brookes shares. We don't think you'll have many left after Valentine's Day, but don't sweat it if you do. "Leftovers should keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days," Brookes shares.
