The Five Guys CEO's Favorite Burger Is Surprisingly Simple
When a food craving sneaks up on you, nothing hits the spot quite like a fresh, juicy burger. While it may be simple, nothing is more quintessentially American than the pairing of a beef patty with a bun. The best part? Wherever you are in the world, you can sleep easy knowing that one is never too far away. From McDonald's to Wendy's to Burger King, the humble meal is the foundation of every fast food experience. In fact, most have their own famous take on this classic sandwich, and whether you gravitate towards the Whopper or the Big Mac, these famous burgers have turned into household names with devoted followings. However, few burgers are more beloved than the ones from Five Guys.
Their burgers stand out from the crowd in numerous ways. For one, unlike most fast giants, the Virginia-based joint makes fresh patties every day, as noted by Eat This, Not That!. While these superior sandwiches may cost you a few extra bucks, they are worth every penny. To top that off, there are a ridiculous number of ways you can customize a Five Guys burger (via the official website). There are 250,000, to be exact. Despite the numerous toppings available, Five Guys CEO Jerry Murrell likes to keep his order sweet and simple.
Jerry Murrell loves a good plain ol' cheeseburger
Whether you like your burger topped with mustard and mushrooms or grilled onions and cheese, everyone has their go-to order at Five Guys. In fact, even our former President has a personal preference. One time, Barack Obama was seen ordering a Five Guys cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and jalapeño peppers at a location near the White House (via Burger Voice). And if Five Guys is good enough for Obama, it's good enough for us!
But when it comes to the Five Guys burger expert, we have to put our trust in founder and CEO Jerry Murrell. After 35 years of running this global business, you have to think he knows his stuff, right? While Murrell likes to switch his order up from time to time, he always prefers to keep his toppings to a minimum. In an interview with Forbes Life, seen on YouTube, he shared, "I just had my favorite burger ... a little plain cheeseburger. Sometimes my other favorite burger is a plain hamburger with ketchup and mustard on it. And another is just a plain hamburger with nothing but raw onions." Hmmm ... maybe he knows something that we don't know — simple can be better!
