28% Think This Starbucks Frappuccino Is The Best
Starbucks might have started out as a company best known for its Pike Place roast, but the coffee chain has expanded to include a lot more than just a regular cup of joe on its menu.
Alongside caramel macchiatos, Americanos, and fruity Refreshers, one of the stars of the Starbucks drink lineup (pun intended) is the Frappuccino. The frozen blended beverage first came to stores in 1995 and has become one of the retailer's most successful — and most ordered — creations. According to Starbucks, there are more than 36,000 ways to customize a Frappuccino. While it began with just two flavors (Coffee and Mocha), you can now order everything from Matcha Green Tea to Double Chocolatey Chip Frappuccinos.
But not all Frappuccino flavors are worth spending almost $5 on. To find out which ones are the best of the best, Mashed polled more than 600 people across the country on their favorite Starbucks Frappuccino. Here's which drink more than a quarter of Americans said is their top choice when they pull up to the Starbucks drive-thru.
Starbucks' Caramel Frappuccino remains a favorite
While there are plenty of Frappuccinos to choose from (or invent), the best one to order is the Caramel Frappuccino, according to Mashed's poll results. About 28% of people said it was their favorite of the bunch. At 380 calories for a grande Caramel Frap, the blended beverage contains three pumps of Coffee Frappuccino syrup and three pumps of caramel syrup for the ideal balance of sweet, java-flavored goodness (via Starbucks). "The great thing about the Caramel Frappuccino is that it's a total classic, with a caramel taste that's the perfect blend of sweet and salty," Cheat Sheet describes. "The Caramel Frappuccino will always be there on the menu for when you need a simple Frappuccino, without excessive toppings and add-ons."
How did some of the other popular Frappuccino flavors fare? White Chocolate Mocha was deemed the second best Frappuccino, receiving 17% of the votes, followed closely by regular Mocha, with 16%. The Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino earned 13% of the votes, while both Caffe Vanilla and Espresso received 8%. The least favorite Frappuccino in the survey was Apple Crisp, which only 6% of respondents chose as their number one pick.
