KFC And Jack Harlow Are Teaming Up. Here's What Fans Can Expect
KFC has just announced that it will be collaborating with musician Jack Harlow for an entire year. A post on the brand's Instagram page read, "We've been holding this secret longer than you can imagine, and today is the day. We're happy to announce that we'll be partnering with @JackHarlow to shake things up a little bit, Kentucky style!"
Meanwhile, Harlow wrote on Twitter and Instagram that he aspired to be "the biggest artist to come from Kentucky" and has now started working with the "biggest brand to come out of Kentucky," paying a huge compliment to the fast food chain. Per Variety, the musician believes that it is an "honor' to work with the brand and was quoted as saying, "I'm looking forward to all the amazing things we're about to do together."
Fans greeted this update with enthusiasm and wrote encouraging messages on social media. A commenter called Harlow a "legend" while others told the singer that they are super proud of him. Another fan wrote, "This is something I didn't even know I needed." Even folks who wouldn't normally support the chicken chain might applaud the collab. As @crystalnataliaa said of the team-up on Twitter, "im not a fan of kfc but today i am."
They're working for a good cause
KFC and Jack Harlow are trying to help those affected by the devastating tornadoes that hit several states last week on December 10 and 11. According to the New York Times, six states were hit by the storms, which destroyed public property and homes. At least 70 individuals from Kentucky were believed to have been killed in the incident and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said, "This has been the most devastating tornado event in our state's history. The level of devastation is unlike anything I have ever seen."
Jack Harlow, a Louisville native, wants to do his bit for his hometown and is teaming up with KFC and its parent company, Yum! Brands, to help those impacted by the storms. He wrote on Twitter, "Together we will be donating $250k to the @americanredcross in relief efforts for Kentucky's tornado victims." As reported by Variety, KFC is also asking its fans to lend their support to the cause and make a donation to the American Red Cross.
According to Billboard, Jack Harlow's upcoming concert at the Louisville Palace Theatre will give some of his fans access to KFC chicken sandwiches in "custom Harlow packaging" from KFC food trucks at the venue. There will also be a massive KFC Bucket Boombox at the location. Over the next year, Harlow and KFC fans can expect to spot new dishes, social media activations, brand campaigns, and more.
