Cold Stone Drops New Cake Batter Creations With A Festive Twist
The holidays always send people dashing through the snow for a variety of reasons, but Cold Stone Creamery has a tasty treat that will have ice cream lovers making tracks to their local store. Alongside seasonal favorites including eggnog, peppermint, and gingerbread, an unexpected flavor is being used by the popular ice cream and dessert brand to take its holiday treats in another direction.
Although ice cream flavor preferences tend to vary, there is a clear champion at Cold Stone. While chocolate and French vanilla were near the top spot for the franchise in 2020, Fox News reported that the chain's Cake Batter flavor was actually king of the cup. It seems that people just can't get enough of the luscious, creamy ice cream with a flavor that reminds them of licking off those mixing spoons.
Whether it is the taste itself or how it pairs with all the other mix-ins that come together on Cold Stone's famous frozen granite countertops, Cake Batter still reigns supreme, as the chain stated in a December 2021 press release. And, just in time for the holidays, that favorite flavor is getting all dressed up for the most festive season.
What are the new Cold Stone holiday flavors?
Building on people's love of Cake Batter ice cream, Cold Stone Creamery joined forces with Moose Tracks Fudge to release two new "seasonal Creations" and a cake, available now through January 11, 2022.
Since a celebration seems more festive with sprinkles, the Deck the Halls with Fudge and Sprinkles creation is big and bold in both color and flavor. While the holiday sprinkles captivate the eyes, the Cake Batter Ice Cream made with Moose Tracks Fudge (above right) is studded with brownie pieces, too. It is almost like a holiday brownie sundae in a single bite. The Strawberried in Fudge (above left) is similar, combining strawberries and yellow cake in an apparent effort to evoke a taste of strawberry shortcake. If cake is the preferred holiday dessert, Cold Stone is offering Cake Batter Fudge Cake, featuring Moose Tracks Fudge nestled between layers of yellow cake and white icing — plus there are a few holiday sprinkles to bring the cheer, of course.
If that all sounds great to you, you're not alone. The rollout of the new products has already been celebrated by ice cream fans on the brand's Instagram page, including one who commented, "Oh that's so sweet mmm." And just how serious is Cold Stone about its new combo desserts? "Ain't no MOOSIN around about that!" the brand declared.
