Amaury Guichon's Chocolate Nutcracker Drummer Boy Has TikTok Stunned
Chef Amaury Guichon began honing his passion for cooking and creating new dishes while he was still quite young. According to the Mediterranean Gastronomy Academy, the Swiss chef was only 14 years old when he moved to France to work at the Ecole Hoteliere Savoie Leman. This early stint made him realize that he wanted to grow further as a chef in the world of sweets. He returned to Switzerland where he studied pastry at Wolsberg College.
Guichon was a promising talent, being awarded a gold medal for "Best Apprentice of France" twice during the course of his studies. He eventually worked at Lenôtre in Paris, where he finished his studies while also training others. By the time he moved to the US in 2014, Guichon had already worked for quite a few years in the industry. He also knew that he really, really enjoyed working with chocolate.
Guichon now continues to impress fans on social media with eye-popping culinary creations. Recently, he shared snippets of how he created one of his latest masterpieces on TikTok: a chocolate nutcracker drummer boy. It's safe to say that his fans were pretty amazed by what they saw.
Viewers are very impressed with Guichon's work
Amaury Guichon's sculpture has left many viewers marveling and commenting on his incredible skills (via TikTok.) One of the most popular read: "Even if I tried to do this in a wood shop with solid material, I would fail. Chocolate? Unthinkable." Another fan said that the chef is no less than a real-life Willy Wonka.
One viewer said that the chocolate sculpture looked so perfect that they would not dare eat it. Several others wondered whether chocolate sculptures are supposed to be eaten at all. In the video clip, Guichon himself is seen taking a bite of his creation. The chef shared a few more details on Instagram, where he wrote that the sculpture "took me way more time than expected but was definitely worth it. It weighs 55lbs of dark chocolate and reach 5ft tall. Let's get into the Holiday spirit!"
