Billie Eilish Uses Costco Peanut Butter In Her Go-To Vegan Dessert
Singer Billie Eilish prefers to stick to a vegan diet. During a British Vogue video during which Eilish answered recorded questions from other celebrities, Orlando Bloom wanted to know what drove her decision to not eat meat or dairy (via YouTube). The singer explained that she'd been following a vegan diet for about seven years. She made the decision to switch on account of the fact that the meat and dairy industries bothered her after she took the time to understand what goes on behind the scenes. She added, "Even though I have lots of friends that eat dairy and meat and I don't ever want to tell anybody what to do, I just can't go on in my life knowing what's going on in the animal world and like, not doing anything about it."
That said, it was relatively simple for her to make this choice because she grew up on vegetarian food and didn't really know what eating meat on a regular basis was like. As she told Montreality (via YouTube), "Becoming vegan wasn't like a huge deal for me because meat was never a thing in my life." One food that is a thing in her life is Costco peanut butter. As per People, she recently shared on Instagram how this spread features in a go-to dessert.
She's a fan of peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies
As per People, Billie Eilish recently demonstrated in an Instagram Story how she likes to prepare her "favorite peanut butter chocolate chip cookies," which are not only vegan but gluten-free. (The recipe was preserved on an Instagram fan account dedicated to saving Eilish's deleted stories.) To make the cookies, the singer combined brown sugar and Costco's peanut butter in a bowl. During a portion that featured peanut butter pouring slowly onto sugar, she jokingly added the text, "This is so sexual."
She then proceeded to express her immense love for Costco's Kirkland Signature organic peanut butter. Eilish said that it's her "favorite peanut butter in the world" and that she likes to incorporate it into her recipes all the time. To complete the treat, she added other ingredients such as vanilla extract and even made oat flour for the recipe. After mixing it all together and forming the cookies, all that was left to do was bake and indulge in peanut buttery delight.
Eilish's love of Costco peanut butter sounds pretty relatable. A fan of the product wrote on Reddit, "it is addicting. One of the few organic foods that I actually think is worth the extra cost." Another peanut butter enthusiast wrote that they only wished they could get their hands on a crunchy version, too.
