Aldi Shoppers Are Loving These Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
It wasn't too long ago when Aldi's ready-to-bake cookie dough made it onto everyone's list of what not to buy at Aldi. But on a normal day, Aldi is a gold mine of ready-to-cook frozen foods, be it frozen pizzas, burgers, meatballs, or pretzels (via Thrillist). If it's a meal that requires minimal effort, Aldi probably has a good stock of it.
Their cookie dough, however, was a completely different story. According to Living Well Spending Less, Aldi's cookie dough, as well as their biscuits and Pillsbury crescents, were almost always on sale for the longest time because, well, they weren't so good. Not to mention, Aldi's in-house brand of cookie dough had a hefty price tag, especially when compared to other, better options of cookie dough.
In a turn of events, however, a Reddit thread claims that Aldi's Bake House Creations Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough is very much worth the price tag and then some. Sharing an image of the freshly-baked cookies with caramel oozing out of them which, quite frankly, looked gorgeous, the Redditor said that their co-workers found Aldi's bake-at-home cookies better than TikTok's famous Crumbl Cookies, which are well-known for their thick frosting and gooey middle.
Reddit thinks Aldi's bake-at-home salted caramel chocolate chip cookies are better than Crumbl Cookies
Who doesn't love pre-made cookie dough for an instant supply of hot cookies at all times? Per Aisle Of Shame, Aldi makes the ready-to-bake cookie dough game even more easy. The pack of 12 comes with pre-made balls of cookie dough so you don't even have to go through the effort of slicing the roll!
While the pack of 12 large-ish cookies sells for about $2.49, Reddit thinks that it's quite the bargain, especially considering Crumbl sells one cookie for $1. While most of Reddit can't help but compare Aldi's bake-at-home cookie dough to the freshly baked cookies Crumbl sells and how superior Aldi's version is, one comment said: "Never heard of Crumbl, but I know a sexy cookie when I see one, and there's several in that photo", referring to the original post.
Another Redditor found the Bake House Creations cookie dough filled with plenty of chocolate chips and salted caramel bits to be better than even the iconic Pillsbury ones. As a testament to how good the salted caramel chocolate chip cookies are, one Aldi shopper confessed that had they been left alone, they would have polished off the entire batch of 12 cookies in one go.
