Only About 1 In 3 Fans Prefer Chick-Fil-A's Nuggets To Its Sandwiches
Customers love Chick-fil-A, as evidenced by their 7th straight year of coming in number one on the American Customer Satisfaction Index of best fast food restaurants (via USA Today). Founded in 1964, according to the Chick-fil-A website, the Atlanta-based chain is known for its incredibly delicious chicken sandwich, a staple from the very beginning, when the original menu consisted of just five items. In 1982, in response to customer requests for a smaller, bite-sized version of the chicken sandwich, Chick-fil-A added chicken nuggets to the roster (via The Chicken Wire).
The nuggets, along with an assortment of sauces that include the classic Chick-fil-A signature sauce, honey roasted barbecue sauce, and Polynesian sauce, proved to be incredibly popular. According to the company's website, chicken nuggets were the most ordered entrée nationwide for the last three years in a row. Coming in at number two was the Original Chicken Sandwich. However, those figures might look different if customers were forced to choose just one item to live on for the rest of their lives.
Chick-Fil-A sandwiches were more popular in a recent Reddit survey
A recent Reddit survey posted on the Chick-fil-A subreddit asked respondents to choose between the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and nuggets as the one they would live on for the rest of their lives. Out of 488 votes, 322 chose the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich while only 166 chose the chicken nuggets. As one respondent explained, "Chicken sandwiches are obviously way more filling than chicken nuggets. That's why I chose sandwiches over nuggets."
A recent Mashed survey on the best items from the chain found a similar result. Out of 649 fans surveyed, only 10.79% (70 people) voted for the chicken nuggets as the best item, while the original chicken sandwich and spicy chicken sandwich received 28.97% and 27.58% of the votes, respectively. Of course, what you think is the best item and what you would want to live on for the rest of your life may be two completely different things.
