Trader Joe's Unfiltered Apple Juice Is So Fresh, You Might Find This
Trader Joe's prides itself on offering an array of organic options for its customers. Items include milk, meat, cereal, frozen pizza, cheese, and the list goes on. The brand even reports that more than 20% of products customers buy from the grocery store are organic. But what exactly does it mean to have the label organic? According to The Spruce Eats, "organic produce and other ingredients are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, sewage sludge, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation."
While this all sounds positive, apparently this process can go awry sometimes. A Reddit user recently posted about the organic apple juice they brought from Trader Joe's and things didn't appear normal. The image shows what looks like a long and skinny brown stick in the container. The Redditor captioned the photo, "Love tjs apple juice but thought the juice tasted weird: look what we pulled out." As you can imagine, everyone had a lot to say about this odd looking object.
Social media weighs in on the strange looking item
Reddit users were surprised to see the picture of the Trader Joe's apple juice gone wrong, and had a range of responses from funny to practical. One joked, "Unfiltered indeed." While another user commented, "I'm horrified... what is that OP?" However, others seemed to try and have a more logical take on what the brown piece could be. "Looks like a pellicle which is formed often in the kombucha process. It's probably harmless and mostly yeast," one user wrote. While a different Redditor agreed, adding that it looks like when you open a kombucha too early.
Either way, commenters agreed that the original poster should definitely take back the juice and ask for a refund. "They'll likely contact corporate for you, but you can also contact Trader Joe's yourself via their website under Product Quality (Quality Concern: Foreign Object on drop-down menu) to tell them what happened so that Trader Joe's can possibly also contact the supplier for the Unfiltered Apple Juice," one explained. The original poster wrote in response, "Haha thanks for your input! I will be returning for a different bottle!"
