This Not-So-Spooky Change Is Coming To Krispy Kreme For Halloween
Over the years, Halloween has become more than trick-or-treating for candy and dressing up in creative costumes. Brands everywhere have been jumping on the All Hallows' Eve bandwagon to celebrate the fall equinox's spookiest day. Krispy Kreme, for one, is getting festive this Halloween season in an adorable way. The doughnut chain has not only redesigned its boxes to include the holiday's traditional black-and-orange color scheme, but it has also temporarily changed its name to "Krispy Skreme." They even tweaked the brand's logo to a ghostly green font on a black-and-orange background.
Krispy Skreme made its official nationwide debut on October 11. What else can glazed doughnut lovers expect from the chain this Halloween? For the last three Saturdays of October — October 16, 23, and 30 — customers can get a box of "Spellbook Dozen" doughnuts for just $1, with the purchase of another dozen (via Business Wire). Each "Saturday Scary Sharies" dozen comes in a special-edition box with the new name and logo, while supplies last. As an added bonus, customers who pay a visit to their local Krispy Skreme wearing a costume on October 31 will receive a free doughnut, no additional purchase necessary!
What else is Krispy Skreme doing for Halloween?
Krispy (S)kreme has also introduced four new Halloween-inspired doughnuts to get customers in the spirit. The Abra Cat Dabra doughnut is dipped in chocolate icing and black sugar and decorated like a black cat. The Enchanted Cauldron doughnut looks scarily like a cauldron — black and green frosting, sprinkles, a pretzel witch's "broomstick," and all. The Bewitched Broomstick doughnut is dipped in purple icing and includes a swirl of orange icing with shimmery sprinkles in the shape of gold stars, plus green buttercream and a pretzel stick "broomstick." The Spooky Sprinkle doughnut sports orange icing and is topped with classic Halloween-themed sprinkles. Super cute Mini Pumpkin doughnuts are also available for the perfect on-the-go snack (via Business Wire). You can pick up a pack of the Halloween-themed doughnuts at your local Krispy Kreme and even pre-order them online.
"We all deserve an incredibly great Halloween this year. So, we're turning into Krispy Skreme for the month and scaring up some amazing Halloween doughnuts along with some spooky good deals," said Dave Skena, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme, in a release (via Business Wire).
