Why Aldi Shoppers Are Confused By This Peppermint Mocha Creamer
As most of the country would agree, we are currently living through the most wonderful time of the year. The air is crisp and fresh, the leaves are changing color, and the cozy sweaters and plaid flannels have finally come out of hiding. When weekends roll around, there is no shortage of fun fall activities including apple picking, hay bale rides, and corn mazes. And let's not forget about all the fall foods and flavors. From cinnamon apple scones and pecan pies, to salted caramel treats and pumpkin spice everything, it's hard not to savor the delicious fall flavors we only truly get to enjoy for a few months a year. Some might even go so far as to ask: Who needs Christmas when you have autumn?
Despite the fact that it's only October, there are already a few brands who are gearing up for the Christmas season. Kellogg has already released its annual Elf on the Shelf cereal (via PR Newswire), and M&Ms recently debuted festive vanilla ice cream cups sprinkled with red and green minis (also per PR Newswire). Another chain that appears to be hopping on the bandwagon? Aldi. And let's just say it's making Aldi shoppers and customers just a tiny bit puzzled, for several reasons.
The lack of goods at some of your favorite retailers may be a result of supply chain shortages
Right now, when eager customers hit their local grocery stores, most of them are scanning the shelves for apple cider, donuts, pumpkin spice flavored coffee, and maple leaf cookies. With Halloween still a couple of weeks away, not many people are in the head space to start thinking about Christmas quite yet. Which is why an Aldi customer was especially baffled when they recently stumbled upon some limited edition Peppermint Mocha Almond Milk Creamer.
User @aldifavoritefinds took to Instagram to share their confusion through a heartfelt note to Aldi. "Dear Aldi, What is going on? Not one store in my area has gotten the pumpkin whipped topping yet but you have already jumped to Peppermint creamer? Much love, a very confused Aldi fan." The post received comments including, "I'm over here just waiting for the maple vanilla whipped cream to make it back on the shelves!" and "Supply chain. We're fortunate we've gotten what we have."
The comments on @aldifavoritefinds' post hinted toward supply chain shortages and bottlenecks that have been happening across the globe, due to port congestion and lack of truck drivers (via CNN). While some companies remain optimistic on the supply chain outlook, White House officials are unsure whether this nightmare will be over by the upcoming holiday season, according to The Hill. Our advice? Pick up some peppermint mocha cream while you still can!
