The One Country Starbucks Cotton Candy Frappuccinos Were Once Available
There's no denying that Starbucks in America has some pretty tasty treats. From their seasonal smash hit, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which sells upward of 20 million every year (via South Florida Reporter), to the classic fan favorites that are available year-round, like the famous Pink Drink or sweet Chai Tea Latte, a trip to Starbucks is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.
However, all Starbucks around the world are not created equal. While we might enjoy the flavors of pumpkin and vanilla here, some Starbucks in other countries have special menu items that are not available here in the States. One such delectable treat was the Cotton Candy Frappuccino, which launched at Starbucks in Mexico on August 21, 2018, according to Delish. The sweet, eye-catching blue Cotton Candy beverage debuted alongside another surgery, colorful drink, the pink Bubblegum Frappuccino, as part of the company's nostalgic #BackToTheFlavor campaign, which aimed to "take you to the best moments of your childhood or adolescence in a single sip," Insider reported.
The Cotton Candy Frappuccino was only available in Starbucks Mexico
Made with a sweet, creamy base and topped with loads of whipped cream, the drinks certainly delivered a boost of extra sugary, nostalgic flavor. The novelty Frappuccinos were just as pleasing to the eyes as they were to the taste buds, boasting pretty pastel shades that were certainly Instagram-worthy. However, the Cotton Candy Frappuccino and its Bubblegum partner were a special, limited-time offering only available at select Starbucks locations in Mexico, according to Delish. Now, it appears to be off Starbucks menus everywhere in the world, and unfortunately, it never made its way over to this side of the border.
While we may have never gotten the chance to try the delectable Cotton Candy Frappuccino, Americans did get the chance to enjoy a cheerful, brightly colored Starbucks beverage in the form of the Unicorn Frappuccino. The stunning pink and purple, color-changing drink made its debut in April 2017 and was available for just five days. It was a smash hit, with some Starbucks locations selling out of the vibrant drink in just one day, according to Business Insider. There is certainly a market for these sweet and colorful drinks, so one can only hope that the Cotton Candy Frappuccino may one day make its way to Starbucks in the United States, too.
