Want To Spend The Weekend At Planters' Peanut-Shaped Inn? Now's Your Chance
Mr. Peanut, the iconic Planters spokes-nut, is getting a new home. Thanks to Hormel Foods' recent acquisition of the Planters brand, Mr. Peanut has left behind his former residence in Pittsburgh to set up some new digs in Austin, Minnesota, Quick Country reports. To properly begin exploring all that the land of 10,000 lakes has to offer, Mr. Peanut will be transforming his eye-catching Nutmobile vehicle into a swanky new vacation home, according to a press release sent to Mashed. Like a friendly neighbor, he's inviting two new friends to join him.
One lucky Planters fan and a guest will win a two-night stay in Mr. Peanut's brand-new INN a NUTshell, where they'll enjoy an immersive Planters brand experience, a generous spread of tasty Planters products, and a $1,500 travel stipend to take advantage of all the activities available in Minnesota's beautiful natural scenery. Here's how to get your name in the running.
Fans can stay at the INN a NUTshell for just $3.59
Planters is giving one winner and the guest of their choosing the keys to Mr. Peanut's 26-foot-long peanut-shaped vacation home, parked lakeside in scenic Duluth, Minnesota, from October 1 through October 3, 2021, says the statement sent to Mashed. The booking fee? Just $3.59, the same price as a jar of Planters peanuts.
Your opportunity to book this nutty stay goes live on September 17 at 12 p.m. CDT, when you can visit MrPeanutInnANutshell.com to find out your fate. That's not all Planters is doing to mark the momentous occasion of its recent move. The brand will also be donating $10,000 to Conservation Minnesota in efforts to help protect its new home state's native land and wildlife for future generations.
If you're a longtime member of the Mr. Peanut fan club — or you just really like peanuts and nature — make sure you set a reminder to enter the contest later this week.
