Aldi Fans Are Freaking Out About These Pumpkin-Spiced Almonds
Although fall doesn't technically begin until the autumnal equinox, on September 22 this year (via Farmers Almanac), Labor Day has come to signal the unofficial end of summer. For many retailers, that's a good enough reason to kick off pumpkin spice season, that time of year where seemingly everything — from pumpkin spice lattes to even spam – becomes infused with this aromatic blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and clove.
Whether or not you're a fan of this ubiquitous fall flavor, there's no denying that it has legions of fans in America (via The Takeout), including many who shop at discount supermarket Aldi, which recently released a number of pumpkin-spice-flavored snacks as part of its September 2021 Aldi Finds. One such snack is the Southern Grove pumpkin-spiced almonds. On a recent Reddit thread, a fan posted a photo of a package of these almonds, with the caption, "10/10. Probably gonna go back tomorrow for about 5 more bags."
Aldi fans can't get enough of these almonds
Fellow Aldi and pumpkin spice fans were delighted by the news. "Wow! That looks so good [pumpkin emoji]" wrote one commenter on the thread.
"Omg. Thank you so much for posting this. Jumps in car and speeds to the nearest Aldi," wrote another eager fan.
As with any seasonal item, it's a good idea to grab them before they're gone, and follow the advice of the OP and another fan on the thread who posted, "I'll definitely be stocking up every year now."
Aldi fans on Facebook are also raving about these almonds. One fan posted to the Aldi Aisle of Shame Facebook Group, "Heaven on earth if you're a basic pumpkin spice person like me," a reference perhaps to how Martha Stewart viewed fans of pumpkin spice.
The pumpkin spice trend may have its detractors among celebrity chefs, but these pumpkin spiced almonds have won over some skeptics, and even converted a non-pumpkin spice fan to write a rave review in Rachael Ray magazine. So if you're in doubt, perhaps it's time to grab a bag or two of these almonds and try them for yourself. Who knows — you might be ordering up some pumpkin spice-glazed turkey breast next.
