The Surprising Reason Ayesha Curry Played Beer Pong With G-Eazy

Napa Valley's BottleRock is a three-day music and food fest, where crows get to feast their ears on some of the biggest names in music as well as consume gourmet foods and beverages from the Bay area. In addition to the musical main course, there are appearances by various celebs (via NapaValley.com). For its eighth year, BottleRock showcased the legendary rock bands Guns N' Roses and the Foo Fighters.

One of the more talked-about moments, however, featured multi-platinum rapper G- Eazy (via the BottleRock website) and Ayesha Curry teaming up to entertain the hundreds of people in attendance. Considering that Curry has rapped at this event in the past (via YouTube) and was sharing the spotlight with a rapper, you might expect all the talk to be about a musical duet. So it may come as a surprise that this moment not only involved G-Eazy and Curry cooking together but playing a game of beer pong as well.

The two local celebrities took to the Williams-Sonoma Culinary Stage on September 3 for one of the "signature attractions" of the festival, which featured a cooking demonstration involving a very large tomahawk steak and Curry's famous smashed potatoes (via Date Book). G-Eazy rubbed down the steak with Curry's Sweet July coffee. Riff Magazine noted that G-Eazy cracked ramen jokes because he thinks he lacks skills in the kitchen. However, he later energized the crowd with his rapping skills. And the beer pong game with Curry was quite entertaining.

G-Eazy and Ayesha Curry entertained the crowd

Date Book reports that while grilling the tomahawk steak for their demonstration, G-Eazy and Ayesha Curry needed to kill some time. So a friendly game of beer pong ensued. The crowd ate it up as Curry scored twice against G-Eazy and bragged, "I might have learned from somebody at home. I'm just sayin'." (That somebody might be her husband, Golden State Warrior Steph Curry.) Perhaps sensing that he was going to lose, G-Eazy recruited a crowd member to help him. The person he picked, Christopher Ybarra, was apparently wearing a Steph Curry jersey but did not display the NBA star's otherworldly shooting ability. Ybarra later told a reporter, "I sucked, but I still got to shoot with G-Eazy and Ayesha Curry!"

BottleRock hailed the demonstration as a success in a Twitter post that was re-tweeted by Curry: "[Fire emoji] Spotted on the Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage @G_Eazy and @ayeshacurry brought the heat, cooking up ribeye steaks [steak emoji] and serving unforgettable moments You just had to be there [peace sign emoji]." Apparently, Steph Curry didn't want to miss out on all the fun and FaceTimed with his mother-in-law, who Ayesha brought on stage before her beer pong battle with G-Eazy. Probusinc reports that upon learning the NBA megastar was on FaceTime, the crowd went wild.
