Trader Joe's Shoppers Are So Excited For Its Vegan Meat Lover's Pizza
Trader Joe's has always been a favorite of veggie-forward foodies, and now the chain is bringing the ultimate of comfort foods to the vegan crowd. Introducing the Vegan Meatless Meat Eater's Pizza. This plant-based pie is made with a trifecta of meatless pepperoni slices, meatless Italian sausage crumbles, and meatless chorizo, as well as topped with a vegan mozzarella. And as would be expected, this speciality pizza has the internet buzzing.
Popular Instagram account @traderjoeslist discovered it recently and in their post – coupled with lots of pizza emojis — they said, "#TraderJoes is really coming through with all the #vegan foods!" Though, the poster did lament the fact that the pizza is not also gluten-free, and therefore was counting on their followers to chime in — and they did so with nothing but positive praise.
Some also agreed they were hoping for a gluten-free vegan pie. But Instagram follower susie_q811 shared, "It's really good!!!!" And another follower alessio1789 added, "Already tried and I love it" followed by a string of happy, loving, praise emojis.
Meat-free is one of the things Trader Joe's does best
The early reviews seem to make it a big hit, which comes as no surprise since Trader Joe's has long been in the game of making veggie-centric comfort foods. This meatless pizza will be joining options like the Vegan Jackfruit Crabless Cakes and Vegan Pasta Bolognese Bowl as well as TJ's Thai Vegetable Gyoza and Vegan Enchilada Casserole (via Live Kindly).
The Vegan Meatless Meat Eater's Pizza costs just $5.99 and has 250 calories per serving, which is about 1/3 of the pizza. And cooking it is easy, just pop it into any conventional oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 14 minutes and it's good to go!
When it comes to what's next for Trader Joe's buzzworthy products, hopefully the grocer will continue to build on its diverse food offerings and make food fun for everyone.
