This Pebbles Cereal-Inspired Makeup Is Turning Heads
America's favorite cartoon-based cereal turns 50 in 2021, and the celebration has gone on all year long. The festivities show no sign of slowing down, either, and fans of sugary breakfast, "The Flintstones," and/or overall nostalgia are not complaining.
Since 1971, shoppers have found Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles – plus the more recent addition of Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles – on grocery store shelves. To honor five decades of being a staple in American cupboards, Pebbles' maker, Post, began rolling out other flavors, collaborations, contests, and more before 2021 arrived. Pebbles even joined in on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021" (via Post).
According to HypeBeast, one of Post's biggest promotions was a commemorative box that came with the chance to win, well, another box, one stuffed with Pebbles prizes from scented candles, puzzles, and fanny packs to Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble Pebbles 50th Anniversary Funko Pop! figures and Pebbles Crisps. We also saw ice cream in both Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles varieties (via AOL), a limited-time-only Birthday Cake flavor of Pebbles, Pebbles-flavored coffee creamers, Pebbles Duncan Hines cake kits, and tie-dyed Pebbles apparel (per the Daily News).
Pebbles-ed out yet? We didn't think so, and neither did Post, apparently. Because we just learned about maybe the most exciting Pebbles offering yet – at least for beauty lovers.
Cereal has never been more glam than this collab with Revolution Beauty
The Daily News reports that Pebbles has teamed up with a British makeup and skincare brand called Revolution Beauty and is unveiling a collaboration collection titled I Heart Revolution x Pebbles. There are 22 products in the lineup that will be available as of August 18 in Ulta Beauty stores, on Ulta's website, and on Revolution's website.
Revolution is no stranger to collabs. On its site, you can shop products made for different Disney movies, the show "Friends," and various influencers. This, the Daily News says, is Revolution's first food-based partnership, and it's guaranteed to channel all of Pebbles' fruity and cocoa-centric aromas as well as the cereal's playful nature. There are two different 18-hue eye shadow palettes (one themed for Fruity Pebbles, the other for Cocoa), a lip oil, a makeup bag, and bath crystals intended to nail the look and smell of Cocoa Pebbles, just to name a few of the products set to debut (via PopSugar).
"The Pebbles brand is all about being a catalyst for creativity and encouraging individual expression in kids and kids-at-heart," Post Consumer Brands Head of Licensing Leah Broeders said in a statement, adding that this Revolution Beauty collab is geared toward tapping into that aforementioned creativity "beyond the breakfast bowl." We're willing to bet fans of all ages will be into this wearable and artistic pop of Pebbles fun.
