Fans Aren't Sure About Pop-Tarts Limited-Edition Fall Flavor
Pop-Tarts and Lyrical Lemonade's Cole Bennett have teamed up to create a first-ever limited edition box with Pop-Tarts x Lyrical Lemonade Lemon Creme Pie (via PR Newswire). Describes artist and videographer Bennett, "It's been a while since everyone has been back together in school, and we loved the idea of collaborating with Pop-Tarts to get creative and make that first day back amazing. All of us at Lyrical Lemonade have been eating Pop-Tarts since we were kids, so collaborating with them on our own Lyrical Lemonade box is a feeling that I can't even really explain, feels surreal."
For those who need some background on Lyrical Lemonade, meet the brainchild of 20-something Illinois innovator Cole Bennett, currently known for videos such as Post Malone's "Motley Crew" music video (via YouTube). Bennett's YouTube channel boasts millions of subscribers and has helped launch the careers of up-and-comers like Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, and Juice Wrld with a unique and original video style (via CHS News). It's this style that attracted Pop-Tarts to the collaboration, and naturally, a lemon flavor was the perfect pairing.
In addition to the unique Lemon Creme Pie toaster pastry with original artwork, fans can also find one-of-a-kind gear like backpacks, skateboard decks, and sneakers, just in time for back-to-school season.
Lemon Creme Pie Pop-Tarts, oh my
As Lyrical Lemonade founder Cole Bennett wrote on Instagram, he "still can't believe it." And fans are overwhelmingly supportive of the former kid with a video camera and a dream. As for the flavor of treat involved, reviews are more mixed, however. Social media fan wavguide commented on Instagram, "Congrats but it looks nasty" while another fan replied to their comment, "YOO I WOULDN'T MUNCH ON THESE congratulations though."
In theory, we're a pretty big fan of lemon desserts — and, well, lemon sauces, lemon savory, and lemon scents. Is it the lemon that's the problem?
It seems, instead, that most fan issues are simply surrounding a few dirty jokes which we'd prefer not to share. We'll let reader abno_ghost sum it up with their Instagram comment: "Id die before i ever eat a poptart labeled "cream pie" lol im jk these look good." It shouldn't be any surprise that with a younger target audience, the humor might be a little juvenile, and honestly, that's okY. We love seeing new ideas and collaborations in the food world; some will be more successful than others, but it's worth trying something new and innovative. Starting August 14th, fans can get this "Crazy Good" collaboration at LyricalLemonade.com.
