Here's What Priyanka Chopra And Nick Jonas Served At Their Wedding
Talk about a party! When actor Priyanka Chopra and musical sensation Nick Jonas wed in December 2018 in Jodhpur, India at Umaid Bhawan Palace, it seemed as though no expense was spared. According to Brides, the couple, who met after Jonas DMed Chopra on Twitter, enjoyed a celebration with family and friends that spanned three days.
The Knot reports that they actually had two ceremonies, one honoring Chopra's Hindu culture as well as a Christian ceremony honoring Jonas' background. The pair wore traditional Indian attire for the Hindu ceremony; Insider reported Chopra had henna applied to her hands and feet. For the Christian ceremony, the bride wore a stunning Ralph Lauren gown covered in Swarovski crystals paired with an astonishing 75-foot veil, Christian Louboutin shoes (via The Knot), and, of course, the star's $200,000 Tiffany cushion-cut diamond engagement ring (via Brides). But if you think Chopra's attire sounds extravagant, wait until you hear about the food.
A blending of cultures
When it came to cuisine, Chopra and Jonas continued to honor their different cultures, serving a blend of American, Continental, and Indian foods. People divulged that the wedding planners shared that the Indian cuisine included secret family recipes and "comfort street food from around the world added to the mix." Rajasthani dishes were reported to be a "major highlight of the evening" (via Times of India). It seems as if Jonas took a quick liking to Indian food, as Times of India claimed that he tried Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken before the wedding. And as if that weren't enough, The Recipe said that high tea was also served at the wedding.
But it was perhaps the awe-inspiring, six layer cake (People claimed it was seven tiers) that stole the show. Jonas reportedly brought in pastry chefs from both Kuwait and Dubai to craft the cake that towered over the couple at 18 feet tall (via Times of India). People reported that the cake was influenced by the "art deco style of the palace" in which Chopra and Jonas were married, and was cut with a large knife resembling a sword.
