Domino's New Pizza In South Korea Features These Eye-Catching Toppings
When you say the word "pizza," most of us probably picture a pie with traditional toppings like cheese, pepperoni, and maybe even pineapple, if we are feeling contrarian. Although there is certainly nothing wrong with these classic toppings, one could make the argument that these kinds of pizzas, while perfectly tasty, can look a little boring. But now, Domino's in South Korea is looking to change that. The chain has just announced they will be making their pizzas a little more eye-catching with the release of their new Blockbuster 4 pizza.
According to Brand Eating, the new pizza will be divided into four zones, with each one representing dishes from four different countries: Switzerland, Canada, Spain, and the U.S. The Zurich zone features black angus beef, roasted potatoes, green bell peppers, and quattro cheese fondue, while the Canadian quarter includes shrimp and corn with a white cream sauce and a parsley garnish. The Spanish section is inspired by smokey beef tapas and features toppings of grilled beef, smoky tomato sauce, pineapple, and mushrooms. But perhaps most interestingly, the American quarter features squid tossed in horseradish sauce, broccoli, bacon, and sweet chili crab, all of which is arranged to look like a peaceful nature scene, with the squid cut to resemble flowers and the broccoli arranged to look like trees.
Domino's South Korea is no stranger to unconventional pizza toppings
This picturesque new pizza will only be available at participating Domino's locations in South Korea, which means that unfortunately, those of us here in America will have to settle for simply admiring the pictures that are posted to social media, at least for now. But the Blockbuster 4 pizza isn't the first time Domino's South Korea has gotten adventurous with their menu. This new arrival joins a series of other unique pizza toppings that are not available at Domino's in the U.S. Earlier this year, South Korean Domino's announced the release of a Cheesecake Black Tiger Pizza, which brought together savory and sweet by sandwiching a cheesecake mousse between two crusts, which are then topped with tiger shrimp, bacon, horseradish sauce, pineapple, veggies, and two different kinds of cheese (via Brand Eating).
Other interesting flavors they have released over the years include the bold Octopus Bomb Shrimp, which boasts whole shrimp, octopus, and horseradish sauce, the cheesy Wagyu and Bistecca Pizza, which has five different types of cheese alone and features king oyster mushrooms, arabiatar sauce, red onions, green peppers, and roasted potatoes, and the meaty, saucy Glamping Barbeque Pizza (via Stars and Stripes Korea). So, if you have a passport and a hankering for some unique pizza combinations that can't be found anywhere else, Domino's South Korea is definitely the place to go.
