Yes, that's right — Kit Kat has a cherry blossom flavor.
So why is there such a difference between the international Kit Kat flavors and the Kit Kat flavors you can find in the United States? It turns out, the United States Kit Kat brand is owned by a different company than Kit Kats internationally. In the United States, Hershey owns Kit Kat, and Nestlé owns it abroad.
But that doesn't mean you can't get your hands on international flavors if you're itching to try them out. You can search online to buy new Kit Kat flavors, and the website Omg Japan has an entire section dedicated to Kit Kats. But what kind of Kit Kats should you try out first? Mashed conducted a survey to figure out what international flavor people are most eager to eat.
Strawberry cheesecake Kit Kats take the cake
If you aren't sure where to start off your international Kit Kat journey, you can look for some of the more popular flavors fans want to try. According to a survey that had 645 respondents from the United States, the most popular Kit Kat fans want to try the most is Strawberry Cheesecake, with 29.61% of the votes (30% if you round up). Raspberry comes in second with 18.60% of the votes, and Strawberry and Matcha Green Tea Kit Kat flavors are tied at 13.02%.
There are some flavors that fans aren't as excited to try, but they certainly still sound unique and delicious. These include Cranberry Almond, which 11.32% of respondents said would be the flavor they want to try the most, and Sake, which got 7.91%. Out of the flavors listed, Shinsu Apple came in last at 6.51%. Ultimately, It looks like berry flavors generally come in on top, and we aren't surprised since fresh berries are so delicious on their own as well as in dessert form.
