Aldi Fans Need To Know About These Frozen Desserts Coming In July 2021
Have you ever shopped at an Aldi supermarket? This German-founded grocery store chain has been making a major expansion push in the U.S. and now has more than 2,000 locations across 36 states — so chances are, you have. If so, you may have become familiar with some of the store's hot-ticket items, those which have attracted a cult following for being unusual, delicious, fairly priced — or all three. There's its frozen paradise fruit blend, chock full of exotic tropical fruits including dragon fruit and passionfruit. There's its pumpkin and sage ravioli, an indulgent and easy dinner to prepare on a weeknight. And then there are its frozen cocktail popsicles, available in boozy flavors such as apple, cherry, lemonade, and berry.
Are you intrigued? If so, you might be stoked to learn that the grocery chain plans to stock its stores with a slew of new products this summer — frozen desserts, to be exact, perfect for beating the heat and humidity. From protein-loaded ice cream bars to ice cream sandwiches studded with M&M's, we got the scoop directly from Aldi on what to look for in its freezer cases this summer. So make some room in your freezer now, and thank us later.
Sundae Shoppe Protein Ice Cream Bars
Do you love ice cream bars and also feel the need to incorporate more protein into your diet? Then look no further than Aldi stores' freezer section starting on July 7, when the chain will stock Sundae Shoppers Protein Ice Cream Bars. Available in Salted Caramel Swirl or Mint Chip with Fudge Swirl flavors, these bars boast just 90 calories each. We never imagined turning to an ice cream bar and not, say, a steak for our protein needs, but hey, this is 2021 and anything's possible. A box of five bars will retail for $3.19, a more than reasonable price to give this ice cream the ol' taste test.
M&M's Classic Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches
Straight from the makers of our favorite candy-coated chocolate morsels, M&M's, comes a four-pack of classic cookie sandwiches. It includes two chocolate cookies studded with mini milk chocolate M&M's, stuffed with reduced fat vanilla-flavored ice cream. These are the kinds of snacks we'd beg our moms for as a child — and they sound just as good to us today. Starting on July 7, boxes will be available at Aldi stores for $3.47 each, providing the perfect opportunity to revisit your youth with a classic craveable candy.
Earth Grown Non-Dairy Ice Cream Bars
If you're lactose intolerant or vegan, summer can sometimes be a bummer when you're trying to find a delicious but dairy-free frozen treat. Thankfully, Aldi's got you covered with Earth Grown Non-Dairy Ice Cream Bars, which will drop in stores on July 14 at a price of $3.69 per box of three bars. Available in Peanut Butter, Forest Fruit, and Caramel flavors, the bars are made with oat milk and are certified vegan and Rainforest Alliance-approved, meaning the company operates on sound environmental, social, and economic principles. We particularly love the sound of the Peanut Butter flavor, which is dipped in a chocolate coating and sprinkled with roasted peanuts for added crunch. A vegan peanut butter cup on a stick? Count us in.
FatBoy Ice Cream Sandwiches
Hitting Aldi freezer cases on July 21, we love the look of these FatBoy Ice Cream Sandwiches, available in Cookies 'n' Cream or Mint Chocolate Chip flavors. A simple, chunky ice cream sandwich made up of two classic chocolate wafer cookies and stacked with a thick layer of ice cream, they remind us of the ice cream sandwiches of our youth. Aldi stores will stock boxes of six sandwiches for the price of $3.99 each — sounds like a bargain to us.
Belmont Summer Cheesecakes
We love cheesecake, but we've gotta admit that the prospect of making one in the summertime — which involves turning on the oven and heating up a water bath for the delicate cream cheese custard — sounds a bit too hot and sweaty for July and August temperatures. That's where these frozen cheesecakes from Belmont come in, all you've gotta do is take it out of the freezer and thaw a bit before enjoying a creamy treat. Available in three rich flavors — Peanut Butter Cup, Cherry Blossom, and Blood Orange, these cheesecakes make the perfect summer dessert alongside a platter of sliced fruit. Look for them in Aldi stores at the price of $4.99 per cheesecake, starting on July 7.
