Summer Fruit Has Officially Arrived At Trader Joe's. Here's What Fans Are Buying
If you shop at Trader Joe's, you don't just like it, you love it. The brand has created quite the cult following with some of their popular food items, like the Everything but the Bagel Seasoning, Cauliflower Gnocchi, and Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
And just in time for summer, Trader Joe's has recently announced some new items that have us all kinds of excited. According to Pure Wow, there are 11 new items on shelves now, including a Vegan Pasta Bolognese Bowl, Pineapple Fruit Spread, Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Chocolate Fudge Oat Bars, and Tangerine Cream Bars, among others.
Yet, these goodies are not even the products that fans are raving about — right now, it's all about summer fruit, according to the Instagram account @traderjoesobsessed who recently took followers on a photo shopping trip to the chain's produce section, and what they picked out was quite delightful and colorful, to say the least.
Here are the summer fruits fresh on Trader Joe's shelves
In their post, @traderjoesobsessed announces that lychees, figs, peaches, nectarines, and apricots have finally made their way to the store. Along with all of the normally stocked fruits (like fresh strawberries, lemons, kiwis, pineapples, apples, etc.), these new picks present the perfect setup for a crisp summer salad — especially when it gets super hot out and you need a refresher.
The Instagram poster claims that the super sweet lychee fruit is her favorite of all the options. If you are wondering what exactly a lychee is, it's an exotic fruit that grows in subtropic climates and is also sometimes referred to as "alligator strawberries" for the textured red exterior — though inside awaits a sweet fleshy fruit that looks almost like a naked grape. Other TJ's fans also seem ecstatic about the new goods, as one user commented on the post, "AND they have yellow watermelons again!"
The Instagram account also promises some upcoming delicious recipe ideas, including a white peach salad, so stay tuned for more!
