Aldi's Frozen Fruit Bags Are Turning Heads
The Season's Choice frozen fruit bags you can pick up at Aldi have always been a popular pick at the German-based supermarket. First, these frozen fruit bags contain nothing but fruit (via Instacart). Most of the fruit they contain is either seasonal or regional (and often tropical), or both, which means you can enjoy your favorite fruits any time of year, no matter where you live. And the price cannot be argued with. Ranging from $2.95 to $4.99 for 1.5 to 2 pounds of fruit, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal on frozen fruit (try comparing Dole, for example, which costs around the same except offers under a pound of fruit per bag). So, naturally, Season's Choice Berry Medley is among our list of foods you should always buy at Aldi.
So, really you can't go wrong with any of these frozen fruit bags, which come in a wide variety of flavors in addition to Berry Medley, including Blueberry, Strawberry, Berry-Cherry, Strawberry-Banana, Pineapple, Mango, Mixed-Fruit (a combo of peach, mango, strawberry, and pineapple), and Tropical-Blend (a combo of pineapple, mango, strawberry, papaya). But now, we've learned, thanks to Aldi superfan, @AldiFavoriteFinds, that there are two new choices, and they're turning heads. Here's why.
Sliced strawberries are making Aldi shoppers very happy
Aldi's frozen fruit bags are turning heads — again! And it's not just because Aldi shoppers have figured out how to turn these babies into adult-style Capri Sun cocktails (been there, done that, still doing, thank you very much). Rather, it's that two new varieties have recently been added, according to Aldi superfan, @AldiFavoriteFinds, who on May 31, let it be known to their 212,000 followers that you can now find Season's Choice strawberries in a sliced version — which will run you about $4.99 per a 2-pound bag (whole frozen strawberries from Season's Choice run about $2.95 for a 1.5-pound bag), and Fiesta Blend, which combines Season's Choice pineapple and mango chunks.
When @AldiFavoriteFinds queried their followers, "Do you prefer whole or sliced frozen strawberries?" it became apparent that sliced strawberries had been long-awaited by this group. "Bought the sliced strawberries and made a Strawberry Pretzel pie for our Memorial Day celebration!" said one. "I don't mind paying a little extra for the sliced ones since they thaw quicker when put on cereal. The whole ones need to sit out a bit before trying to eat or you'll break a tooth!!" said another.
As for the Fiesta Blend, let's just say, it got some Aldi shoppers thinking once again about how they might leverage these frozen fruit bags into summery cocktails — like daiquiris and a Pimm's cup.
