Trader Joe's New Vegan Ice Cream Bon Bons Are Turning Heads

Trader Joe's is the holy grail of grocery shopping, with convenient locations right in your neighborhood, affordable prices, friendly staff, and a variety of products they continually roll out that appeal to a number of lifestyle and diet choices. Lately that includes introducing more plant-based products, like this super popular vegan meat, a delicious vegan bolognese-style sauce, and creamy-dairy free tzatziki dip. Trader Joe's has so many great options that are free of any animal products, and now there's a new one appealing to those with a sweet tooth.

Instagram user @traderjoeslist recently spotted Vegan Cookies & Creme Vanilla Bean Bon Bons at a location in Santa Monica, California. According to the post, this new treat is described as a "coconut non dairy frozen dessert enrobed in a chocolatey coating," and each package comes with six tempting pieces that are perfect for the warm and sunny summer weather ahead.

People are already loving these vegan bon bons

Like other Trader Joe's products that already have cult followings, fans have a lot to say about these new ice cream bon bons. Some commenters on the original Instagram post from @traderjoeslist mentioned that this new offering appears similar to the grocery chain's Mint & Chip Bon Bons, which also had positive reviews from customers on Reddit.

One Instagram user said, "I can't wait to pick these up for my daughter. She. [Will.] Be. So. Excited. 😋" while others were tagging friends they thought might be interested in grabbing a pack (or two!). However, some people expressed disappointment that these bon bons contain wheat — although the ice cream treats are vegan-friendly, they're not gluten-free. On the back of the package, there's also a note that the bon bons might contain traces of almonds.

The good news is these dessert bites will only taste indulgent as each only has 110 calories and just 7 grams of added sugar, unlike other ice cream desserts that pack in the sweet flavor and overload on other possibly unwanted ingredients.
