Read This Is If You Just Bought Ruffles All Dressed Chips From Sam's Club
Americans can't get enough of Ruffles. According to Statista, over 65 million people across the U.S. have indulged in at least one bag of Ruffles in the past 30 days. While this snack proves irresistible, Ruffle All Dressed fanatics have to watch out for a new issue if the products came from Sam's Club. According to the FDA, Frito-Lays have issued a voluntary recall on their All Dressed chips that went out to Sam's Clubs across the Southeast. If you have a milk allergy and bought 16 1/8 ounce bags of the affected chip, put the food down immediately.
The company did not properly label each bag with a dairy warning, and because this flavor of chip may contain milk ingredients, anyone with dairy sensitivity should stay away from the All Dressed chips. States affected include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. If you bought this variety of chip in a different state, have no fear and continue to snack away. The affected bags only went to Sam's Clubs and the recall only impacts this particular flavor of chip in the large bags. If you find smaller All Dressed chips in a variety pack, these items should feature the proper warning label, while other flavors of Ruffles are also okay to eat.
Take a peek into your pantry to see if your products are impacted
If you did happen to buy the affected products, take a look at the UPC number and expiration dates. According to Best Life, you should check for a UPC number of 28400 56520. If your product has this number, dispose of the chips ASAP. You can also look for a June 2021 expiration date and a manufacturing code of 373205510, 473305610, or 473105610 to confirm your suspicions. Luckily, no one has reported any ill effects from coming in contact with the mislabelled Ruffles and if you have any questions, you can reach Frito-Lay at 800-352-4477 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
If you or anyone in your household has a dairy sensitivity and you suspect that your pantry includes these mislabelled chips, make sure to investigate immediately. With a bit of vigilance, you can stay healthy and avoid any health reactions to this product. If the urge strikes to pick up some All Dressed Ruffles, make sure to hit up any local retailer besides Sam's Club for the time being and keep confidently enjoying this top notch chip.
