Gordon Ramsay Has Good News For Fans In Orlando
Orlando's next dose of entertainment is courtesy of chef Gordon Ramsay. Opening in August 2021 is Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, the second outpost of the Michelin-starred chef's Las Vegas spot for beer-battered cod, loaded fries, and imaginative milkshakes, according to a press release sent to Mashed. One of the more casual dining options in Ramsay's international restaurant portfolio, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips will open in Orlando's ICON Park with a view of its signature observation wheel.
Why fish and chips? It's not just because it's a staple in England, where the Scottish chef grew up and trained. It's also a nostalgic food for Ramsay, the press release reads. "We didn't have a lot of extra growing up, but when Mum could scrape together enough for a bag of fish and chips to go from the local chippy — those memories are still so relevant," Ramsay told the Orlando Sentinel. "This restaurant has become a sort of ode to my Mum and how hard she worked to give us the best she could."
What else is on the menu at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips?
Besides golden fried fish made with mild and flaky True Cod and a delicate batter, fries are a main attraction at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips. Order yours "natural" with sea salt or "dirty" with a choice of three flavor combinations: shaved truffle and parmesan, jalapeño and chorizo, or bacon, cheddar, green onions, and sour cream. Customers can also order marinated shrimp with basil and lavender, chicken and chips, or a variety of seasonal specials and secret menu items, according to the press release.
Beverages are just as important as the food at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, based on the Las Vegas menu, which includes spiked lemonade and milkshakes made with sticky toffee and Biscoff cookies.
