What It's Like To Eat At Burger King's Whopper Bar
Burger King is known as the "Home Of The Whopper," and they've been adding on. According to Wide Open Eats, the brand continues to launch Whopper Bars, which the article calls a "classier cousin" to the typical fast-food restaurant offering upgraded ingredients. Not that the Whopper needs much more, it's pretty perfect as it is with that frame-grilled burger tucked inside a sesame seed bun and topped with mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions.
The new Whopper Bars though let you build your own burger with more than 20 distinct toppings and sauces to choose from (think smoked bacon, jalapeños, and crispy onions) and most locations come with an open kitchen to watch it being made on the spot, says Wide Open Eats. In addition to Las Vegas and Kansas City, Florida has two popular spots, one at the bustling Universal Studios in Orlando and another in Miami's South Beach, which has the distinction of being the first to sell beer. Classy indeed!
More about the Whopper Bar's special amenities
Wide Open Eats further gives a rundown of what makes Whopper Bars so much more special than your average Burger King. In addition to the open kitchen, these spots also offer plasma TVs with a loop of open flames, just like sitting by the fire!
Their "classier" menu also differs from a run-of-the-mill Burger King in several ways. In addition to the build-your-own option with toppings and sauces galore, there are also unique meal options, including the Angry Whopper Meal, Bourbon Whopper Meal, 3-Cheese Steakhouse XT, Pepper Bacon Steakhouse XT, Mushroom and Swiss Steakhouse XT, and the Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich Meal. The New York location once even touted a New York Pizza Burger (for the hefty price of $12.99), which was cut in 6 "slices," and was made from four Whopper patties that had toppings of mozzarella cheese, marinara, pepperoni, and pesto, according to Serious Eats.
We can only hope Burger King continues to expand the kingdom with more of these locations!
