Meghan Markle's Olive Oil Cake Has One Special Ingredient
Meghan Markle is a multi-talented woman who's full of culinary surprises. According to Insider, she's an expert in the kitchen and can prepare scrumptious meals with ease. In fact, she loves preparing meals for herself and Harry. Fun fact: he asked her to marry him after she cooked a meal for the two of them. Aww!
Additionally, she likes taking care of her health and doesn't go overboard with her ingredients. As per Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Markle used to run a blog called The Tig where she made it a point to come up with tasty yet healthy recipes such as her toasted oatmeal brûlée, a delicious breakfast treat made with wholesome ingredients like flax seeds and rolled oats (via The Tig). Recently, the actress baked an olive oil cake at home for a charity that she runs with Harry. She used an extra special ingredient in the dessert, delighting her fans and hopefully the people that ate it.
Meghan Markle gave her olive oil cake a personal touch
According to a tweet shared by World Central Kitchen, Meghan Markle baked a special lemon olive oil cake, whose ingredients included lemons that came from Markle's garden. The tweet read, "In honor of Women's History Month, WCK worked with Archewell, the non-profit created by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to provide meals & share a message of appreciation & support in Chicago." This contribution added to the almost 500,000 meals the organization said it has helped provide in the Chicago area so far.
As per a Today report, the cake was prepared for frontline workers in Chicago. Harry and Meghan also wrote a touching note with their gift. It read, "We hope you enjoy the offering we baked for you — a small token of thanks, from our home to yours." Fans were touched by the gesture. A Twitter user wrote that they're certain the cake was delicious and that they'd love to see a recipe from Meghan. So sweet!
