Jamie Foxx Just Got His Own Bourbon Brand
Jamie Foxx has done just about everything. Academy award, check. Golden Globe award, check. Grammy award, double check, and the list of awards goes on and on (via IMDb). Foxx is an artistic force that has made his name, talent, and presence known in the world of celebrity. We loved him in Any Given Sunday and we still find ourselves making music videos in our car whenever any of his songs hit the airwaves. But hold on tight because the silky voice crooner is about to join the ranks of celebs like Michael Jordan, George Clooney, Nick Jonas, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Hudson. What do all of these stars have in common besides good looks and talent? If you answered they are celebrities with alcohol labels, then winner, winner, chicken dinner.
That's right, Foxx is now in the whiskey business. In a press release issued on March 3, it was announced that Foxx is now the proud owner of Brown Sugar Bourbon (BSB), marking a new direction for the Washington-based spirits company. Just the name sounds delish, even if you don't drink bourbon. Foxx taking the reigns of BSB also coincides with the redesign of the bourbon's bottle. How will Foxx be involved with his new venture?
Foxx was a fan of BSB before he became the owner
Per the press release, Jamie Foxx will be serving as BSB's North star, guiding and navigating the brand's creative direction, while contributing his entrepreneurial skills to conquer new frontiers. Translation: Foxx is going to bring major visibility to BSB. We wouldn't be surprised if it shows up at one of the swanky Oscar after parties. But is BSB any good? Brown Sugar Bourbon is an award-winning flavored whiskey and its taste is described as having "distinct notes of brown sugar and cinnamon." It, along with BSB 103 — named such because it is 103 proof — are the brand's flagship offerings.
Foxx sounds pretty pumped about this new role saying, "I've always lived by the rule that life is short, and you need to go out and do what you want to do. Owning a brand that brings sweet life to the party has always been a goal and with BSB we're making it happen. Before the quarantine I watched bottles of BSB disappear at all my celebrations and knew this was a brand I wanted to bring into the spotlight." It will be interesting to see where Foxx takes the brand in his new ownership position.
