Everything You Need To Know About Reese Witherspoon's New Cooking Show
With a nearly 30-year acting career, Reese Witherspoon is no stranger to being in front of a film crew. Now, she's moving that film crew to the kitchen, where she'll be taking two of her favorite things — reading and cooking — and combining them to collaboratively create her newest cooking show, #EatTheBook. The series is set to premiere on Instagram on February 18, according to a recent post on Reese's Book Club's Instagram page.
The cooking series will be based on Witherspoon's book club, Reese's Book Club, which she launched in 2017. The club exclusively focuses on women-centered stories, which Witherspoon hand-selects herself each month. (Some of Witherspoon's recent picks have been The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse and You Have a Match by Emma Lord, per the Instagram profile). "Reese will tell you the special sauce is a story with honesty and sincerity, celebrating all the ways we are women," the club's site says. (Side note: There's no cost to join the club. Just download the app and you're in!)
Reese Witherspoon's cooking show will feature host Christina Milian
Witherspoon fans might not be too surprised to hear that she'll be combining cooking, of all things, with reading. She's publicly dabbled in the kitchen before, like the time she shared her seriously-delicious Aperol spritz recipe on Instagram. But what does a book club have to do with cooking? We're glad you asked. Reese's Book Club teamed up with KitchenAid and American actress, singer, and songwriter Christina Milian to turn this reading-cooking hybrid series into a reality. The club's recent Instagram post reveals that Milian will be hosting it and the series will pair "authors with chefs and a mixologist to create meals inspired by their books."
Excited to watch it? Us too. #EatTheBook will be entirely on Instagram, per She Knows. You don't need to have an Instagram account to watch it, although you will need one if you want to comment or like it. Spoiler: The first episode's dish will be based on The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory, Guillory reveals in an Instagram post. "I'll be in the kitchen with host @ChristinaMilian and chef @katomlinson making tacos inspired by Nik & Carlos' date in the book," she writes. Who else is counting down the hours until the premiere?
