The Foods Anne Burrell Can't Stand
Celebrity chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell sure knows to hold her own in a highly competitive industry. Known for her unique, spiky locks and unique persona, Burrell has a lot of experience in the industry (via the Food Network.) She is someone who likes to help her fans understand how to recreate classic dishes without fretting over the process. The hallmark of her approach is that she keeps things simple and easy to understand.
What's her cooking style like? Think bold dishes that are wholesome in terms of ingredients and never disappoint as far as taste is concerned. As per Cheatsheet, Burrell is heavily influenced by Italian cuisine. This probably has something to do with the fact that she studied and received culinary training in Italy for a brief period, studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. What about the food items that don't excite the chef at all — dishes she'd rather avoid while cooking? Here's a glimpse into her preferences.
There are two specific items
In case you're curious, the two food items that the celebrity chef simply cannot stand are salmon and blue cheese. Note that she doesn't hold back from using salmon or blue cheese in her own recipes. In fact, she once made a dish with fugs, walnuts, and gorgonzola on the Rachael Ray Show. She never was shown sampling her own dish on camera, even when Ray took a couple of bites. Interesting.
Burrell did speak to People about how much she dislikes these two ingredients. She said, "I don't like salmon. I don't like blue cheese. I can taste both of them and understand if the dish is prepared well, but I will never sit down and eat salmon. Ever." She added that she would have preferred to enjoy the taste of salmon — "I wish I liked it. I mean, it's good for you," she told People in 2019, perhaps lamenting that she can't stand a food that's widely seen as healthy and full of nutritional benefits.
