Everything You Need To Know About Reese's New Easter Flavor
Well, Christmas is over. No more getting excited about holly jolly sweets like gingerbread houses and candy canes. Time to look ahead to the rest of the year. Reese's is way ahead of us — the candy company has already revealed what its new 2021 Easter flavor is going to be: Mallow-Top Reese's Peanut Butter Cups made with marshmallow-flavored creme.
These springy sweets were initially spotted by junk food spotting site Candy Hunting, which announced the flavor at the start of the month and pointed out that it's actually not the first time we've seen something like this from Reese's. In fact, in 2006 Hershey's debuted a Reese's cup with a marshmallow layer much like this one.
Now, the Hershey Company has confirmed that Candy Hunting's initial spot was accurate, officially announcing the release of the Reese's Mallow-Top Peanut Butter Cups weeks after the candy blogosphere first learned of its existence (via Delish).
Mallow-Top Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are already on the shelves
Even before the official confirmation, candy lovers had spotted the Reese's Mallow-Top Peanut Butter Cups on the shelves of their local supermarket. Instagrammer frontpagefoodfinds posted about them back on Dec. 12, captioning the photo, "Spotted @AcmeMarkets today! Brand New Reese's Peanut Butter Cups mallow-top for Easter! I spotted them in bags of individually wrapped snack size cups (pictured), and packages of two...I'm very excited to find these because they look pretty fantastic!"
Along with these springy marshmallow-topped peanut butter cups, Hershey's has also announced its other 2021 Easter candies, per Delish. There's the assemble-it-yourself milk chocolate Build-a-Bunny bar and a new Ice Breakers Ice Cubes gum flavor, Strawberry Lemonade. Hershey's is also bringing back a bunch of its existing Easter-themed candies. From Reese's, we'll get to see the return of the Reese's Peanut Butter eggs, the Reese's Peanut Butter milk chocolate bunnies and the Reese's Pieces Shake and Break eggs. Keep an eye out, in case any of these candies make it to your local grocery store early.
