Trader Joe's Baton Variety Packs Have People Talking
Everybody loves a good cookie. According to What's Cooking America, these baked treats can trace their lineage all the way back to the 7th century, when Persians began baking cookie prototypes and spreading their recipes across the world. Fast forward to present day, and we can't get enough of these baked goods in our life. The South Florida Reporter states that Americans eat more than 2 billion cookies each year, equating to about 300 servings per person. Trader Joe's have really tapped into this sweet love affair, and have a new offering that has everyone excited — their Baton Lover's Quartet.
According to Instagrammer @traderjoeslist, Trader Joe's has released a tin of rolled-wafer cookies containing four flavors — hazelnut, chocolatey orange, cocoa, and cookies and cream. The Instagram post @traderjoeslist created showing off the new dessert has already garnered over 7,000 likes, as they announce "BATON LOVER'S QUARTET. Whats [sic] your favorite flavor[?]" Commenters quickly chimed in, with responses ranging from "Cookies and cream 10000%" to "Surprisingly loved the chocolate orange." According to Trader Joe's, the chain is selling the cookies in 16 ounce canisters at around $6.99 per tin, making them the perfect present this holiday season for anyone who craves some crispy, sweet goodness. Each cookie comes with a distinct wafer outside — Cookies & Cream comes wrapped in a chocolate shell, Chocolatey Orange gets a distinct orange tint, Hazelnut features a tan-hued shell, and Cocoa interestingly comes wrapped inside a "plucky pink cookie shell."
Whether you need a quick present for a teacher or co-worker, or just want to treat yourself right this winter, you can't go wrong with a tin of these distinct wafer cookies. Just make sure to grab a can while you can — according to the grocery chain, prices and availability vary between stores, and who knows when they will get restocked.
