Everything You Need To Know About White Castle's Comfort Food Menu
We all know this chilly time of year is synonymous with the need for comfort food, right? Well, White Castle knows it too, which is why they're bringing us all the cozy, carbo-licious vibes of their comfort food menu, from now until February 14, 2021. In a statement sent to Mashed, the fast food burger chain announced, "White Castle comfort foods return – the emotional hug the world has been craving". Jamie Richardson, the Vice President of White Castle explained, "What we've all been aching for is a warm hug, even if it's emotional and not physical."
We are so ready for this cheesy, beefy hug, which includes the return of White Castle's Sloppy Joe Slider, the Mac & Cheese Nibblers, and an exciting new menu item – the Smoky Joe Slider. Before you turn yourself over to the food coma that's surely coming, let's take a look at the details of these comforting White Castle offerings.
White Castle's comfort food menu includes two Sloppy Joe sliders
Although there are some items on the menu at White Castle you should probably skip, it's no secret that their sliders are delicious. But when the freezing temps of December and January hit, don't we need something a little more substantial? Or, saucy, even? That's what White Castle's Sloppy Joe Slider brings to the table, according to a press release sent to Mashed. It's the slider-sized version of a classic Sloppy Joe with 100 percent beef, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers, all tossed in a tangy, sweet sauce for just $0.99.
The new kid on the block – the Smoky Joe Slider includes that same Sloppy Joe goodness plus smoked cheddar cheese and crispy onions. We can't confirm the price of the Smoky Joe Slider but we know you can score a "Joe Six Pack" with six of either the classic or smoky version of White Castle's Sloppy Joe Sliders for just $6. Obviously, that deal is perfect for sharing with friends but no judgment here if you need to keep all of that Sloppy Joe comfort to yourself.
White Castle's Mac & Cheese Nibblers are a welcome return to their comfort food menu
The return of White Castle's Mac & Cheese Nibblers might be the best news we've heard all year. When they reappeared on the menu for a brief time in 2019, Delish described these bite-sized treats as "nugget-sized bites of mac & cheese," deep-fried in cheddar batter, perfect for eating with your hands. In a Mashed poll, people actually named mac and cheese as the comfort food they'd be willing to give up, but they obviously weren't eating it like this.
Twitter use @SheltonShorts put it best when they said, "My comfort zone is eating #MacandcheeseNibblers from @WhiteCastle. I hide in my car and eat them one by one... so good!" A private Mac & Cheese Nibblers sesh in your car is a mood, for sure. Although, in addition to small and medium sizes, White Castle does offer these bite-sized delights in a "shareable size" just in case you're feeling super generous.
While you're indulging in all this White Castle deliciousness, don't forget they have a "Craver Nation" customer loyalty program. You can even score a free combo meal when you use the White Castle app to sign up. Pledging loyalty to comfort food like this seems like a no-brainer if you ask us. Who knows? Maybe one day you'll even make it into the White Castle Customer Hall of Fame.
