The Unexpected Place You Can Now Buy Milk Bar Cookies On The Cheap
New York's bake shop, Milk Bar, has been attracting attention for its fine offerings since 2008. Started by renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi, Milk Bar has developed a loyal fan following by striving to serve up unexpected and delicious treats to its patrons, as explained by Milk Bar's official site. The shop has several options on its menu including cookies, layered cakes, pies, and more.
A description on the shop's website explains its core mission. "At Milk Bar, we believe in the transformative power of a really freakin' good cookie or an outstanding piece of cake. And we consider no occasion at all, to be a perfectly valid occasion to celebrate yourself or someone else. We hope you'll agree," it reads. The brand's first location was opened in New York City's East Village neighborhood, and offers lots of signature sugary treats, such as its cereal-milk soft-serve ice cream, compost cookies, and milk bar pie (via Travel & Leisure). If you're already a fan of Milk Bar's varied offerings, here's some good news that's bound to get you excited.
For Milk Bar cookies closer to home, your destination is Target
As reported by Eater, Milk Bar is expanding at a dizzying pace and has recently nailed down a new deal with Target. You can now get Milk Bar's famous soft baked cookies, coupled with a new item called truffle crumb cakes, at Target stores across the United States. Several flavors of the cookies are up for grabs, such as confetti, compost, and cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow. As far as cakes are concerned, get your pick from birthday, chocolate birthday, and chocolate chip truffle crumb cakes. Yum. The cookies are available in packs of eight and are priced at $4.99, while the cakes will be available for $2.99 (for two small cakes).
Confused which one to try first? You're a bit spoiled for choice there. Milk Bar's compost cookie is an eclectic mix, made with all kinds of delicious ingredients such as pretzels, potato chips (seriously), oats, butterscotch, coffee, and graham crackers (via Delish); while confetti is a classic vanilla cookie studded with rainbow sprinkles. Of course, if you're feeling more adventurous, you could sample the cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie for a burst of sweet flavors that will keep you satiated for a long time.
