Why Everyone's Talking About The New Dunkin' Beer Collab
This year has been a super fun time for fans of food-inspired beer flavors. Getting in on the action once again is one of the original food and beer collaboration teams, Dunkin' and Harpoon. Food & Wine states that the brands first came together in 2018 to create the instant classic Harpoon Dunkin' Coffee Porter, and again in 2019 with the Harpoon Dunkin' Summer Coffee Pale Ale. Now, in time for fall 2020, the pair have announced that in addition to the release of the seasonal Dunkin' Coffee Porter, they will be debuting three additional new beers based on classic Dunkin' flavors.
According to Delish, the three new flavors which will be joining the Dunkin' Coffee Porter this fall are the Harpoon Dunkin' Boston Kreme, Harpoon Dunkin' Jelly Donut, and Harpoon Dunkin' Pumpkin. They will be available to purchase as part of the Harpoon Dunkin' Dozen mix pack, an assorted 12-pack of cans containing three of each flavor of the Harpoon Dunkin' beers. You will also be able to find the Harpoon Dunkin' Pumpkin beer on draft at select locations and as a standalone six-pack. These brews will be available soon, beginning to appear anywhere Harpoon beers are sold this September.
These four Dunkin' Harpoon beers have something for everyone
Over on the Dunkin' website, the team provided descriptions of each flavor. If you have not had the opportunity to try it the past two falls, the Harpoon Dunkin' Porter is described by the coffee chain as a tribute from the Harpoon brewers to the coffee that keeps them running. It is a classic American Porter with 6 percent ABV, featuring the flavor of classic Dunkin' Original Blend coffee and malty notes of caramel, chocolate, and toffee.
The all-new Harpoon Dunkin' Pumpkin, which will be the most widely available among the debuting beers, is a pumpkin spiced latte-flavored ale described as easy drinking and lightly colored. This brew is made with real pumpkin, traditional pumpkin pie spices, and just a touch of espresso. The Harpoon Dunkin' Pumpkin ale comes in at 5.2 percent ABV.
The last two new Harpoon Dunkin' inspired flavors, the Harpoon Dunkin' Jelly Donut and the Harpoon Dunkin' Boston Kreme, are both brewed with real doughnuts! The Jelly Donut flavor is referred to as a hazy IPA made with raspberry puree and doughnuts, which is 5.7 percent ABV, and the Boston Kreme beer is a Dry Irish Stout made with doughnuts and cacao nibs, which Dunkin' states make this even more doughy and chocolatey than you might imagine. The Boston Kreme beer comes in at a manageable 4.3 percent ABV.
We can't wait to try these new and returning Dunkin' inspired brews to welcome in fall!
