Jack In The Box Has Exciting News For Spicy Chicken Fans
On Thursday, August 13th, fast food chain Jack in the Box announced the decision to bring back their popular 2019 menu item, the Spicy Chicken Strips. Thrillist states that the spicy chicken options available at many of Jack in the Box's competitors — like Wendy's, Burger King, and Popeyes — have proven to be incredibly successful at creating internet buzz, so it makes sense that Jack in the Box has decided to get back in on the spicy chicken action.
Chewboom describes Jack in the Box's Spicy Chicken Strips as being made with 100 percent white meat chicken. The chicken is covered in a panko and cracker-crumb breading and seasoned with the chain's signature spice blend, and then fried until crispy. You can purchase the strips in orders of three or five, or as part of a combo meal which includes three Spicy Chicken Strips, one small soda, and a small order of fries. All orders of the Spicy Chicken Strips come with a dipping sauce of your choosing. The dipping sauces currently available to choose from are honey mustard, barbecue, sweet and sour, teriyaki, buttermilk ranch, and marinara — as well as Frank's RedHot buffalo, if you're looking to make your spicy chicken even spicier.
The Jack in the Box Spicy Chicken Strips will only be around for a short time
Last year when Jack in the Box originally debuted the menu item, FoodBeast gave the Spicy Chicken Strips a fairly positive review. They described the strips as decently large in size and the spice level as not quite "light your mouth on fire" hot, but stated that that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. All in all, the Jack in the Box Spicy Chicken Strips were declared to be an excellent iteration on the spicy chicken fast food trend.
Bustle also reported in 2019 that in addition to the Spicy Chicken Strips, the chain was selling nuggets and two sandwiches made with the spicy chicken: Jack's Spicy Chicken and Jack's Spicy Chicken with Cheese. These other spicy chicken offerings, however, do not appear to be included in the summer 2020 relaunch.
Initially asserted to be a permanent addition to the Jack in the Box menu by QSR Magazine, Thrillist states that a representative for the brand informed them that the Spicy Chicken Strips will actually only be available through the fall, so be sure to check the Jack in the Box website ASAP to find a location near you if you'd like to try these spicy strips before they disappear once more.
