This Is The Most Famous Celebrity Who Worked At McDonald's
It may surprise many high school and college students to learn that celebrities are just like us. In fact, several A-list celebrities took McDonald's "You Deserve a Break Today" jingle literally, landing his or her first big break working for the fast food chain, learning to take orders at the drive thru, flipping burgers, and making fries.
The company has helped employees learn some important lessons: How to work as a team and "show no fear" when dealing with difficult people, along with learning to "act" happy while working — all seemingly great lessons for someone who plans to work in the entertainment industry or be in the public eye (via Business Insider).
From pop stars, to athletes and billionaire business owners, there are a lot of people who owe their start to McDonald's. So, who's the most famous celebrity to gain this invaluable experience working at McDonald's? The answer may surprise you.
Famous A-listers who worked at the Golden Arches
Super pop star Pink can be counted among those who worked at the franchise when she was in high school. The "Hurts to be Human" singer told Food & Wine, "It was important to my family that I make my own money. I was a drive-through girl at McDonald's." She went on to say she had a microphone headset like that of Rhythm Nation singer Janet Jackson which made her feel powerful.
Pink is in good company. Both Seal and Pharrell Williams also worked at the chain. Seal's memories of his McDonald's career were not so positive. He told The Guardian it was his worst job. The uniform was two sizes too small, and he only lasted long enough to pick up his first paycheck. Pharrell also didn't last very long as a McDonald's employee. He confessed to Seth Meyers that he was "very lazy" and was ultimately fired from McDonald's three times. It may seem ironic that the "Happy" singer was later hired to write the jingle "I'm lovin' it" along with Justin Timberlake (via Daily Mail).
But who was the most famous celebrity to work at the iconic fast food restaurant?

McDonald's has certainly had its fair share of famous faces work its counters. And while some didn't necessarily have the best experience, there are other celebrities who have only positive things to say about their time with McDonald's, one being actor and author James Franco. Franco was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for 127 Hours, and in 2018, he won a Golden Globe for The Disaster Artist (via Biography). Franco wrote in an article for the Washington Post, "All I know is that when I needed McDonald's, McDonald's was there for me. When no one else was." He shared the same article that he was hired to work the late night drive-thru shift while trying to go to school and land an acting gig. Franco expressed nothing but gratitude for the opportunity, and shared that everyone eats out of the fry hopper. Noted.
But perhaps the most famous individual to work at Mickey D's before he discovered the special sauce to create Amazon, and created his path to become the world's richest man is Jeff Bezos (via CNN). According to Reader's Digest, Bezos worked for the fast food chain as a cook where he enjoyed cracking eggs with one hand really fast. Today, Bezos is cooking up nothing but profits with his online retail platform.
