The New $5 Wendy's Chicken Meal Everyone Is Talking About
Fast food chain Wendy's has updated its popular $5 Biggie Bag deal to include a chicken option, according to Chew Boom. The Biggie Bag promotion was originally launched in March of 2019 and featured Wendy's Bacon Double Stack. Lately, the chain has been adapting and adding additional promotions and to feature their chicken-based menu items, which is probably due in part to recent beef supply disruptions, which the chain informed MarketWatch about in early May 2020.
In a statement, Wendy's said that this shortage is having an impact on their menu, causing some items to have limited availability. This shortage has also caused some grocery chains to limit the amount of meat customers can purchase at one time in an attempt to maintain the assortment of protein options available for all shoppers. Wendy's prides itself on using "fresh, never frozen" beef, which means the supply disruptions could be felt more acutely by the chain than other fast food companies which use frozen beef patties.
Which menu items come as part of the Wendy's Crispy Chicken Bag meal deal?
Brand Eating reports on the new Crispy Chicken Biggie Bag promotion, stating that while swapping out the Bacon Double Stack for the Crispy Chicken Sandwich might seem like a worse value, Wendy's has added more chicken nuggets to the meal deal to balance out the cost.
The new Crispy Chicken Biggie Bag contains one Crispy Chicken Sandwich, 10 chicken nuggets, a small order of fries, and a fountain drink. Fast Food Post states you can choose between the Spicy or Crispy flavors for your 10 piece chicken nuggets, and describes the Crispy Chicken Sandwich as a breaded, white meat chicken patty, with crisp lettuce and mayonnaise on a lightly toasted bun.
The new Crispy Chicken Biggie Bag promotion is very similar to Wendy's Crispy Chicken 4 for $4 Meal, with an additional six nuggets added for only a dollar more. Guilty Eats asserts that Wendy's has also updated their 2 for $5 menu deals to only contain chicken-based menu items for the time being.
