Typically featured at Disney's PCH Grill at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, the recipe for the sweet treat is now online for everyone to enjoy.
The recipe calls for eight essential ingredients and one optional ingredient, but many of them are likely already in your pantry. That means you can create a "Disney Magic Moment" in no time at home. All you will need is day-old challah bread, bananas, chocolate chips, peanut butter, eggs, chocolate milk, ground cinnamon, and salt. You can also add chocolate syrup or powdered sugar on top if you like.
The recipe is made to feed four, but you might find yourself wanting more than one serving! It certainly sounds like a sweet start to any day.
Make Disney's magical French toast at home
To make this magically-delicious version of French toast at home, you will want to begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees, and greasing a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray. Next, cut 8 slices of day-old challah bread into 1-inch cubes. Slice two ripe bananas into 1/2-inch rounds. Place both in a large bowl and stir in a 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
Combine 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 6 beaten eggs, 3/4 cup of low-fat chocolate milk, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a blender. Blend it until smooth. Next, pour the wet mixture over the bread, banana, and chocolate chip mixture. Carefully stir until the bread has soaked up the egg mixture.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The top should be golden brown when you take the French toast out of the oven. Top the treat as you like with chocolate syrup and powdered sugar, or simply enjoy as is.
Just like that, you'll have a delicious and magical Disney breakfast spread right at home.
