Here's How You Can Make Disney's Famous Dole Whip At Home
If you've never had Dole Whip at Disneyland or Disney World, it's one of the most iconic treats you can get in the parks — right behind Mickey ear ice creams. The sweet treat is super refreshing and cool on a hot day with just enough sweetness to give you a boost when you need it most. The pale yellow pineapple soft serve just hits the spot (via Delish).
Luckily for everyone, Disney and Dole both just dropped the recipe (via Dole). Even better, the recipe is incredibly easy and only calls for three ingredients. All you'll need is ice cream, pineapple juice, and crushed pineapple to whip up this classic Disney treat.
With the new skill tucked under your belt for at-home recipes, you might even want to experiment with it. A splash of vodka or a citrus-flavored liqueur might be the perfect addition for a boozy Dole Whip treat on a hot summer day.
How to make Disney's famous Dole Whip
To make the official Disney Dole Whip, all you have to do is combine one big scoop of ice cream, four ounces of pineapple juice, and two cups of frozen pineapple in the blender until smooth. Just like that, you have delicious soft-serve style pineapple Dole Whip.
The recipe didn't specify what kind of ice cream to use, though Delish suggests you use vanilla. Using something like fruit sorbet might add to the flavor, but the Dole Whip still needs the creaminess of ice cream. For a really decadent treat, get premium ice cream that will have a higher butterfat content (via Reader's Digest).
The Dole Whip recipe that Dole released was a little different from what Disney released. It calls for one cup of pineapple juice frozen in an ice cube tray, one frozen banana, a couple of teaspoons of powdered sugar, and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of coconut milk. Again, blend until smooth. It certainly sounds a bit healthier than a heaping scoop of full-fat ice cream.
