The Truth About The New Glitter-Filled Oreos
Okay people, hair we go! Now that Poppy from the hit movie Trolls is a queen, she is also getting her own Oreo cookie that's being released in advance of the new Trolls movie, Trolls World Tour, which hits theaters in April.
Trolls, an animated film based on the Troll dolls, premiered in 2016 and featured a laundry list of celebrity voices including Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, James Corden, Gwen Stefani, and John Cleese, to name a few. Well, they're back in theaters this spring and the marketing blitz has begun (via IMDb).
Oreo, the chocolate wafer sandwich cookie with a white crème center that's been a household treat since 1912 (via Thought Catalog), has created two new flavors inspired by two characters, Queen Poppy who starred in the first Trolls movie, and Tiny Diamond who we will learn more about in Trolls World Tour (via Best Products).
The first new Oreo flavor is named Queen Poppy and is a glittery pink crème flanked by two golden Oreos. This is the first time Oreo has created a glitter cookie and the glitterati, along with every girl 8 and under, can't wait. No mention as to what the flavor of the pink crème is, but we are sure it will be the sunshine in your pocket and put that good soul in your feet (via House Beautiful).
The new glitter Oreos are inspired by Trolls
Tiny Diamond cookies are described as classic chocolate Oreo sandwiches with a glittery green crème and popping candy inside (via Delish). You had us at Oreo, but add in that glitter and popping candy, and these are on the can't-wait-to-try list. Just imagine. And you'd better hurry, because these sparkly cookies are limited-edition flavors.
Additionally, both cookies have three little designs on them like a cassette tape (go ask your dad if you don't know what that is). These designs will be unique to the character featured on the Oreo pack. And if the two new cookie flavors aren't enough to get you excited for all things Trolls, the Oreo website says you can unlock an AR experience with Poppy by scanning her Oreo Trolls pack and cookie. Oreo has also synced up with Trolls World Tour to release the song from the movie, "Just Sing," exclusively on the Oreo website. In fact, according to the Red Tricycle blog, the song will only be available on the Oreo site to listen to in its full-length for the first 60 hours of its release. So grab some headphones and listen now.
Maybe Poppy is right. Maybe life is all cupcakes and rainbows and glitter Oreos.
