The Truth About Wendy's New Frosty Flavor
Whether you like to drink a Frosty, or dunk your french fries into it, Wendy's Frosty is one of the most iconic fast food milkshakes out there. In celebration of their 50th birthday, Wendy's has announced a new, festive take on the classic: the Birthday Cake Frosty (via Elite Daily). And for those who like their Frosty a little more dressed up, the chain also announced the debut of another sweet treat: the Frosty Cookie Sundae.
Frostys are as much a part of the history of Wendy's as their burgers — they were even on the restaurant's original menu. The chain originally started off with chocolate Frostys and introduced vanilla in 2006 (via Business Wire), but this is the first all-new flavor addition to the menu in its 50-year history (via Thrillist) Fun fact: The chocolate frosty actually has a little bit of vanilla in it.
What does Wendy's Birthday Cake Frosty taste like?
According to Wendy's, the new Birthday Cake Frosty starts off with the classic creamy vanilla frosty base, and has birthday cake flavor mixed in. It comes at a bargain price, too — a small Birthday Cake Frosty is just $1.49 (it comes in the standard range of Frosty sizes, from junior to large).
If you've got an intense sweet tooth and are feeling a little more adventurous, you could opt instead for the more elaborate Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae, which combines the creamy Birthday Cake Frosty with a topping of sugar cookie chunks and a dusting of rainbow sprinkles (via Wendy's). Available in one size, the Wendy's Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae is just $2.19.
Both of these Birthday Cake Frosty treats will be available for a limited time only as the chain celebrates it's 50th, so if you're anxious to get a taste, you'd better act now. One thing we can't guarantee is how it will taste when paired with french fries, but why not give it a try?
