Taco Bell Is Killing Off These Menu Items
Remember how excited you were when the fast food wizards at Taco Bell said they would be making taco shells out of Doritos? That was way back in 2012 and naturally, people lit up social media with their exclamations of joy over the Doritos Locos Taco. Bad news, Taco Bell fans, two versions of that glorious creation are coming to an end. Nation's Restaurant News has reported that come September 12, thanks to a menu revamp, the Cool Ranch and Fiery Doritos versions of this beloved taco will say adios.
Before you go and drown your sorrows in sour cream and try to eat your sadness away with a supreme Chalupa, there's more bad news. Seven other items are also getting the ax from Taco Bell's menu. A blog on the company's website broke the bad news by letting customers know they needed a "fresh, new start" with their menu. What came next was an explanation for the removal of some beloved menu favorites. "As you can see, we gave our menu a brand new look-and-feel to help make ordering easier," read the post. "It's kind of like our version of decluttering a closet."
Uh, whatever happened to leaving your closet a cluttered mess forever, because you knew eventually that you'd need that Cool Ranch Doritos taco? Hmm, Taco Bell?
Other items that will no longer be part of your future Taco Bell order include the the Beefy Mini Quesadilla, Chips & Salsa, Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller, Double Decker Taco, Double Tostada, Power Menu Burrito, and XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito. It's the Enchirito all over again.
Not only will this change what you can order at Taco Bell, but it should be noted, that if you had a go-to combo order, that number has probably changed too. Say you used to get the #3 Crunchy Taco Supreme combo, well, you'll now be asking for combo #1.
Enjoy those Doritos Locos Tacos, Double Tostadas, and XXL Grilled Stuft Burritos while you can, because by September 13 their lingering heartburn will be all that remains. On the plus side, the Taco Bell secret menu just got nine new entries.
